Maple Chipotle Dipping Sauce
Sauces · 10 min · Serves 8 · Easy · Best with Dark Robust maple syrup
A bold, smoky sauce that balances the heat of chipotle peppers with the deep sweetness of dark maple syrup. Perfect for dipping chicken tenders, drizzling over tacos, or spreading on burgers.
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Dark Robust maple syrup
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp adobo sauce (from canned chipotle peppers in adobo)
- 1 chipotle pepper in adobo, finely minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt to taste
Method
- Add the mayonnaise to a medium bowl.
- Whisk in the maple syrup, adobo sauce, and minced chipotle pepper until smooth.
- Add the lime juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir to combine.
- Taste and season with salt. Add more chipotle for heat or more maple syrup for sweetness.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving so the flavors can meld together.
| Tip: Dark Robust maple syrup is the right choice here — its bold, caramel-forward flavor stands up to the smoky chipotle and keeps the sauce from tasting flat or one-dimensional. |
