Maple Cardamom Panna Cotta
Desserts · 20 min + 4 hrs chill · Serves 4 · Medium · Best with Golden Delicate maple syrup
A silky, fragrant Italian-style cream dessert infused with the floral warmth of cardamom and sweetened with golden maple syrup. Elegant enough for guests, easy enough for any night.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ⅓ cup Golden Delicate maple syrup
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2¼ tsp unflavored gelatin (1 standard envelope)
- 3 tbsp cold water
- Pinch of salt
- Fresh berries or extra maple syrup, for serving
Method
- Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine cream, maple syrup, cardamom, and salt. Heat until just barely simmering, stirring often. Do not let it boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin and vanilla until fully dissolved.
- Pour evenly into 4 lightly oiled ramekins or serving glasses.
- Refrigerate uncovered for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until fully set.
- To unmold, run a thin knife around the edge and invert onto a plate. Or serve straight in the glass, topped with fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup.
| Tip: Golden Delicate maple syrup keeps the panna cotta’s flavor light and floral — its gentle sweetness lets the cardamom shine without overwhelming the cream. |
